Bedikat Hametz
People spend a long time cleaning their houses before Pesach, but we still want to make sure that we didn’t accidentally miss anything. That’s why on the night before Pesach, we make one last check of the whole house, checking to see that we didn’t forget any place. Bedikat hametz, which means “checking for hametz,” is this last check in every single room and in every nook and cranny.
