Hamentashen
Ingredients
Dough
2¼ cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
200 grams of cold margarine
Poppy filling
1 spoon honey
½ cup sugar
¼ cups water
1cups grounded poppy seed
1 tablespoon lemon peel
¼ cup raisins
Instructions:
Poppy filling
Melt the sugar, water, and honey in a pot till the sugar has melted.
Add the poppy seeds and cook for one minute. Then add the lemon peel
and raisins. Let the filling cool down till the dough is ready.
Dough
Mix together all of the dough ingredients with a mixer for making the
dough. Divide the dough into two balls. Roll out each ball so that
it forms a sheet that is 3 centimeters thick and then cut out circles
using a glass. Put a teaspoon of the filling in the middle of each
of the circles and make a triangle out of each circle. Pinch the
corners of the triangle tightly. Bake till brown at a high
temperature for 15-20 minutes.
