Remember

Even in the happiest times, it is important to remember the sad days of the past. At Jewish weddings, for example, the groom usually breaks a glass, to show that even on the happiest day of his life, he still remembers the destruction of Jerusalem, two thousand years ago. As a philosopher said not too long ago: “Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.”
