One very practical thing anyone can do is giving tzedaka to people who need it. There are many different ways to do this mitzvah. Every day you can put a few coins in a tzedaka box. Then, when the box is full, you can send the money to poor people who need it or to groups that help these people. Another kind of tzedaka is called gemilut hasadim. You don’t need money to do gemilut hasadim. All you have to do is help people who need it. Visiting a sick friend, or helping a neighbor carry their groceries home are ways of doing gemilut hasadim. Can you think of any other ways?
